Today is the day you’ve all been waiting for: Disney+ is out and it’s absolutely worth the price. Never before has there been an easier or more efficient way to consume an exorbitant amount of Disney content in one place. With their recent $71.3 billion acquisition 21st Century Fox, they’ve also gained access to Foxed-owned Marvel characters like Deadpool and the X-Men. The streaming service is available for $6.99/month or $12.99/month if you bundle it with Hulu and ESPN+.
For a price comparison, buying the lowest package for Hulu will set you back $5.99/month and ESPN+ is $4.99/month. Going the bundle route will save you $4.98/month. There’s also an option to purchase Disney+ by itself for the year at $69.99, saving $13.89. This is like getting two months for free.
What is Disney Plus?
Disney Plus is the streaming offering from Disney. It contains an enormous collection of Disney movies and series, Pixar content, Star Wars content, marvel content, and now Fox and National Geographic content. There are also Disney Plus originals like The Mandalorian, a new Star Wars episodic series and a live-action adaptation of Lady and the Tramp.
You can set up profiles for kids to limit the types of content they’re able to consume as well as keep watch history and progress separate.
I signed up for the service’s $12.99/month option to save on separate billings for Hulu. After using the service for just a few moments, I’ve got to say: If you like Disney, Marvel, or Stars Wars at all, you should probably get this. You’re not only gaining access to Disney’s huge vault of content, but it’s officially the only place to watch every episode of The Simpsons ad-free.
Oh, right. That’s the other great news. The entire service is ad-free.
You’ll also have the ability to download any movie or TV episode to your mobile device. This is going to be a game-changer for long trips with kids. Load up that iPad, phone, or Kindle Fire and experience peaceful bliss as your young ones watch Frozen, Moana, or my personal favorite, Recess.
Where can I watch Disney Plus?
There are a lot of ways to watch Disney’s new streaming service. You can watch via:
Amazon Fire TV (this includes the Firestick)
Mobile & Tablet
Amazon Fire Tablets
Android Phones & Tablets
iPhone and iPad
When does the Disney Plus streaming service release?
Disney+ debuts today, November 11, 2019. Why are you still reading this? Go and watch Boy Meets World or Mr. Feeney’s going to send you to detention!
