This is a HighPingGaming exclusive! Author Estevan Zamora (that’s me!), aka GoingZEUS, has discovered a game-breaking ‘disarming’ bug in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s new Cyber Attack mode. The bug is potentially the worst Modern Warfare bug we’ve seen so far as it can cause a player to die unnecessarily in Cyber Attack. But the disarming isn’t about disarming the objective’s EMP bomb, this is about the bug disarming you.
Modern Warfare bug Cyber Attack
It seems like when you’re running near a teammate who’s being revived, or shortly after reviving a player, the game is causing you to throw your primary weapon down. Perhaps though, it’s whatever gun you have equipped. I’ve taken the liberty of uploading the full gameplay to YouTube, or you can just watch above.
I’m not exactly sure what causes this bug. It’s only happened to me in Cyber Attack, and only when I’m near a revivable player. Whether or not I do the revive doesn’t seem to matter. It feels like I’m walking ‘over something’ that just strips the gun away and tosses it to the ground.
Can this be easily replicated? I’m not sure. But I have a feeling Infinity Ward will want to fix this quickly as the game has already been criticized for having a ton of bugs.
Replicating the bug
Ok, so here’s what I had equipped, what map, character faction, etc. I’m not exactly sure what the root cause of the bug is, but I figured that any and all settings would potentially be beneficial.
System used: PC
Map: Gun Runner
Faction: Allegiance (Minotaur)
Loadout: I’m currently using the M13 with the following setup:
- Muzzle: Tactical Suppressor
- Barrel: Empty
- Laser: Empty
- Optic: 4.0x Flip Hybrid
- Stock: Empty
- Underbarrel: Marc Foregrip
- Rear Grip: Empty
- Perk: Frangible – Wounding
- Customizations: Camouflage (Morrocan Snake – Spray Paint)
Hopefully, this bug will get resolved quickly. This has the potential to completely ruin a smart play, and I’m not sure getting if the revive is worth it due to the bug leaving your player almost completely vulnerable due to the disarming.
UPDATE: A fix was released on November 8, 2019.
