While Avengers: Endgame still holds its title of the highest-grossing movie of all time, Star Wars may just end up overtaking it. Within the first hour of pre-sales The Rise of Skywalker sold 45% more tickets than Endgame’s first hour according to CNBC. If Star Wars pre-sales keep steadily rising, Endgame might just meet its match.
A redemption arc for The Last Jedi?
Star Wars: The Last Jedi received a 91% score from Rotten Tomatoes despite actual customer reviews grading it considerably lower at 44%. Apart from obvious plotholes and non-important characters and roles, I still enjoyed the movie and am excited to see if some of the problems get fixed.
The end of the saga and an era of Star Wars?
According to the trailer itself, this is the end of the saga and over forty years of Star Wars. Don’t worry, with the introduction of Disney’s new streaming service Disney+, more content has been confirmed starting with The Mandolorian. The original saga we’ve all come to know and love might be over. However, with countless games, books, and TV series out and in the works, Star Wars will live on.
