Succubus gameplay premiere (NSFW)

Succubus boss in AGony spin-off game

You ever just had a game that makes you say, “What the fuck?” That was Agony. It was a game where you, a tormented soul, awake in Hell and must escape the fiery pits of… well, Hell. It’s criticized by the media for extensive use of the female anatomy and more shocking scenes, including rape. I remember one outlet even saying that Agony was a “toxic game about dehumanizing women“. All that aside, I think the gameplay was decent.

Succubus is sort of a sequel

Well, if that sort of thing upsets you, you’re going to absolutely hate Succubus. This game is a spin-off of Agony, and not a lot has changed. You’re still in Hell, although this time you play as a lustful Succubus named Vydija.

According to the Agony Wiki page, you’ll play the game as Vydija, a “wild and lustful” Succubus demon. This is her second introduction as we were first introduced to her in the original Agony.

With all of the legitimate rulers of Hell now gone, everyone left sees Nimrod as their ruler. Nimrod and you, his new queen, raised a new ’empire’ from the corpses of sinners. You two somehow managed to control all of the chaos left by the old rulers.

No offense taken, Succubus

I’m not trying to debate whether or not something is or isn’t offensive. Above all, I truly believe that it is up to the consumer to decide what content they enjoy and what content they don’t. However, there are segments of people who will get offended by anything taboo or shocking. I will say that a huge part of Hell in video games seems to be naked people, as ‘lust‘ is one of the seven deadly sins.

My opinion on Succubus is that I am not offended. The game looks fun. It looks like a lower-budget game that’s marketing itself through the shock factor. Lots of hack-n-slash gameplay, lots of gore, lots of nudity. It’s probably going to be fun. A lot of the ways to kill enemies are pretty intense, and I’ve always loved games that blend the lines of reality’s taboos and lore—meaning the likes of Dante’s Inferno—with an extremely creative team.

Anyway, enjoy the video below. Or don’t.

This video is EXTREMELY NSFW and I DO NOT recommended for young children or the easily offended.
